San Francisco topped Realtor.com’s list of the 20 hottest real-estate markets in September. Of the top 20 markets, 10 are in California and four are located in the San Francisco Bay area. Preliminary data indicate that homes are moving 4 percent more quickly year over year, even though sale prices are at record highs.
