Neighbors are calling the police, and not because of a college party happening in the adjacent house – it’s because of an open house.
According to Realtor Magazine, several real estate agents have reported that open houses they hosted drew big crowds, blocking roads and annoying neighbors. Analysts attribute the buyer rush to the lack of inventory in many markets.
For example, in Belmont, a suburb of Boston, an open house drew more than 100 people within 45 minutes. The police came, but the house went under contract with more than a dozen bids shortly thereafter.
