Smart home technology not yet living up to the hype

Smart home technology is not living up to its billing, according to a recent Washington Post article.

The author describes smart home equipment as “a fractured market of occasionally buggy appliances that work with some, but not all, of the systems out there.” A recent damper on the market is consumer concern about the implications that smart devices held for their privacy and security. In a survey by Accenture, some consumers had abandoned their smart home gadgets.
