MarketWatch columnist Jurica Dujmovic offers a list of home security devices that he argues are “simple to use, in addition to being smarter and in most cases cheaper than your average home-security system.”
First on the list is Cocoon, a device that monitors the house when its residents are asleep by tracking noise levels and reporting any unusual sounds to a smartphone. After being alerted by unusual noise levels, the device will then turn on its high-definition night-vision-enabled camera, streaming it to the users phone.
Other items on the list are Canary, a motion-sensor device that doubles as an air quality, humidity, and temperature sensor, and the Kevo Smart Lock.
