Livability reports that as traditional tech hubs like San Francisco, Seattle, and New York become more expensive and tech-saturated, mid-sized cities in the South and Midwest are vying to take their place.
The research site highlighted five regions in middle America that are increasingly drawing innovative tech companies. Omaha and Lincoln, Neb., topped the list due to its supportive tech landscape and active venture capital scene.
Other growing tech hubs included Huntsville and Birmingham, Ala., Ames and Des Moines, Iowa, the Research Triangle Park in N.C., and Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo.
