A company in London developed Q-Bot, a “robot designed for the tiniest spaces of your home—the crawl spaces where really you don’t want to crawl,” Fast Company Exist reports.
Even better, Q-Bot is a robot designed specifically with a task in mind: scanning the area underneath floorboards and delivering foam insulation.
"Normally you would have to pull the floor up, removing the furniture, carpet, coverings, maybe even moving out then you cut insulation panels to shape by hand fit an airtight membrane and then fit everything back in and redecorate," Q-Bot CEO Mathew Holloway tells Fast Company Exist. "It's really laborious, disruptive, and expensive."
