Livability found the seven best U.S. cities for buying a first home.
Pittsburgh topped the list, with a median home price of $171,100. Most of the city’s homes are affordable for a family earning the median income, and universities and tech companies provide jobs. In addition, a city program called First Front Door can help qualified buyers with closing costs and down payment.
Pittsburgh was followed on the list by Oklahoma City, Cincinnati, Pueblo, Colo., Winston-Salem, N.C., Knoxville, Tenn., and Louisville, Ky.
