According to Realty Times, Boomers are trading empty nest properties for apartments and condos nearer their jobs in cities.
Many Boomers, compared to their parents’ generation, are staying healthier longer and still working into their sixties. For the many that aren’t financially able to retire yet, moving into a city offers the opportunity to downsize expenses and be closer to work. And other boomers rent in the city and have their primary residence at a vacation spot in a tax friendly area to reduce costs.
