An increasing number of single buyers are combating high home prices and piling debt by buying with a friend, according to Realtor's new annual profile of homebuyers. Some are concerned that this trend of friends and lovers buying real estate together may lead to messy legal situations, but others see it as a chance to save.
Though still a small percentage of the market at four percent, the number of friends buying together doubled from last year. The number of couples who are not married but buy a home together is also on the rise, now at nine percent.
