Researchers at the Imperial College London have created 'living' wallpaper.
Using cyanobacteria as ink, the researchers were able to harvest electricity by printing the ink and circuitry onto conductive paper. The cyanobacteria then photosynthesize, creating energy, per Curbed.
“Imagine a paper-based, disposable environmental sensor disguised as wallpaper, which could monitor air quality in the home,” Imperial College London’s Dr. Marin Sawa said in a statement.
