Home price increases in the U.S. is slowing down, and according to The Wall Street Journal’s real estate blogger Nick Timiraos, the deceleration is a mixed baag.
Based on analyses of S&P Dow Jones indices, Timiraos found that the share of homes selling out of foreclosure was falling, attracting growing interest from investors. Meanwhile, low interest rates and pent-up demand from traditional buyers led to bidding wars. Timiraos shares five charts that show the fluctuation of home prices.
