Older consumers are more comfortable with new technology coming down the road than you might think. For example, MIT’s AgeLAB in 2016 showed that more than 50 percent of consumers in the 50-plus age group are comfortable with technological innovations that help drivers, specifically active assist. And at AARP’s 2016 Demo Day, one of the finalists was SafeWander, a button sensor for seniors and people with Alzheimers that allows family members of caregivers to track their movements at home or on the go.
