One important factor is income; retirees are encouraged to think through a sustainable way to make the money from a home sale suffice to keep a comfortable life. Renting is also recommended, even for those who can afford to own, for those who love to travel, and would like a landlord to handle chores and costs for sudden expenses such as a new furnace or roof.
