The Active House B10 generates twice the amount of energy it needs thanks to the photovoltaic panels on the roof. The 970-square-foot house, completed last July in Germany, uses smart-grid technology and is so energy efficient it also powers a pair of electric cars as well as a building in the neighboring Weissenhof Museum. The prefab structure only takes a day to assemble once it’s on-site.
