Buyers of a luxury condo in San Diego can help build a home for a slum-dwelling family in Manila, Fast Company Exist reports.
This is because nonprofit organization World Housing is working with developers, soliciting donations of a portion of their marketing budget to create local factories that build low-cost homes in the developing world.
The founders, Pete Dupuis and Sid Landolt, started the organization after talking to Toms shoes founder Blake Mycoskie, who uses the one-for-one model for marketing and donating his company’s shoes.
