According to a new analysis by Zillow, the median waterfront house in the U.S. is valued at $360,900, compared to the median non-waterfront single-family home price at $171,600.
Zillow explains the prices in a graphic that depicts how many non-waterfront homes one could buy in a city with the price of one waterfront property. In Tampa, Fla., one waterfront property can be as expensive as eight homes. But among the top 10 least valuable waterfront communities, nine of those cities are also in Florida, albeit lesser known cities, the most affordable waterfront homes being in Holiday, Fla., with a median price of $103,000.
