The St. Petersburg Tribune profiles affordable housing developments in Pinellas County, home of St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida.
So far, three affordable housing projects have been completed in the county, using a special fund set up by local officials.
According to Executive Director of Pinellas County Housing Finance Authority Kathryn Driver, officials have leveraged $19 million from the county’s general fund into partnerships that have generated about $208 million in investments and about 2,000 units of income-based affordable housing.
