D.C. may place height limit on rowhouses

Washington D.C.’s Zoning Commission voted to impose a 35-foot height limit on new rowhouses that builders have been constructing into narrow lots in some of the city’s toniest neighborhoods.

The homes often tower over the typical, two-story neighboring rowhouses and anger neighbors, who complain they are an eyesore and block the sun. The new rules still must be approved by the local planning commission.
