DOE issues RFI on energy savings prediction methods for residential efficiency upgrades

The Department of Energy has issued a request for information on energy savings prediction methods for residential energy efficiency upgrades.

DOE would like to get input from the construction industry. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 21. In particular, DOE is interested in current state-of-the-art of savings prediction methods, forthcoming advances that could improve the accuracy and/or reduce the costs of prediction methods, and the potential market implications of improved savings prediction methods.

It is also interested in the role of user-training, contractor certification, better in-field practices, and other factors to improve the accuracy of energy saving calculations.
