Builders in Houston have usually stuck with the traditional single-family home on large suburban lots. But according to the Houston Business Journal, this will be changing soon.
“[Builders] are branching out into different product types, such as condominiums, townhomes and patio homes,” The Business Journal reports. “They also are expanding their price ranges, in large part due to skyrocketing land prices, but also to capture a wider base of prospective buyers, experts said.”
One example is Pennsylvania-based Toll Brothers, which started building three- and four-story townhomes that will range in size from 2,350 to 3,900 square feet.
