New research says that Hurricane Harvey, which struck Houston and the Gulf Coast last month, is the 10th natural disaster this year to cause more than $1 billion in economic damage.
Business Insider reports that flooding and storm damage in Texas and Louisiana may cost as much as $100 billion to clean up and repair.
Other costly weather events in 2017 include flooding in Northern California, tornadoes in several Midwestern and Southern states, and hail storms in both Colorado and Minnesota.
