Despite what many people grow up saying they are going to have in their homes, a slide down the stairs, a hidden room behind a bookshelf, and a movie theater are not the most popular features in a 2016 single-family home.
Instead, more practical things, such as a walk-in closet in the master bedroom, a laundry room, and a great room are the three most likely features, according to a recent NAHB Eye on Housing blog post.
Other amenities on the list include features to help owners with energy conservation, like low-e windows and Energy-Star appliances and windows.
Conversely, cork flooring in main level living areas, pet washing stations, laminate countertops in the kitchen, and an outdoor kitchen are features builders reported as least likely to appear in homes in 2016.
