Installing rooftop solar panels on newly built houses can be cost-effective in terms of hardware, labor, permitting, and other factors, says Jesse Morris of the Rocky Mountain Institute. Morris says rooftop solar PV systems can be installed on new homes at much lower costs than they would otherwise be on a home that’s already built.
