Because of the energy sector’s continued decline, Houston builders should expect fewer home sales in 2016. But according to the Houston Business Journal, there's an upside to slower home sales next year for home builders.
“Labor costs are starting to come down, and there are fewer instances of competing builders poaching workers from job sites,” Will Holder, president of Houston-based Trendmaker Homes, told Houston Business Journal.
“We’re seeing some relief now,” he adds. “We’re seeing labor stabilizing, and the cost increases have certainly gone away.”
