While public transit information has been streamlined into Google Maps, and while restaurant inspection scores have been worked into Yelp reviews, no user-friendly site has compiled building permit data.
Yet, that is. Emily Badger of The Washington Post says that an app or platform that holds city data could be a handy tool to predict gentrification, spotunpermitted projects and even identify what kind of building is being put up on a construction site.
While spreadsheet websites with this data exist already, a dedicated service would make it easier for the average person to study consumer behavior and know what’s going on with local construction.
