The prominence of sites such as Zillow and Trulia has made homebuyers smarter about what they want in a home. Real estate agents need to adapt to a changing world.
R.L. Adams, a contributor to Forbes, writes that a company named Matterport will help real estate agents separate themselves from the pack and gain a foothold with new buyers. Matterport has a 3D camera that produces renderings of homes that can be viewable on any device.
The technology has been used to capture more than 400,000 residential and commercial spaces, and conduct real estate transactions on homes worth up to $8 million.
In a brief conversation with Bill Brown, CEO of the company, he informed me that "Matterport’s mission is to give people the freedom to experience any place at any time... establishing 3D and VR models as a primary medium for experiencing, sharing, and re-imagining the world."
